Mark Toutjian International Gilead Child Molester...
by cyberjesus inin the 80s there was an bethel elder in the mexico branch, he was graduated along with his wife ruth becerril from gilead school.
he was in charge of meps and the whole computer department... he then started had sex with a 14 year girl in his congregation in the city of texcoco mexico.... he was then df and kicked of bethel but his wife stayed.
he then moved to usa took the girl with him and married her and a couple of years later was re appointed an elder again.. i saw a news article that an elder ex bethelite computer consultant from concord ca with the same name was charged on 1999 by the fbi for having sex with a minor in texas.. both from the same city elders jw and computer consultants.... i wonder what happened with his case..

Well, ya know, the Bible says if you get caught raping an unengaged girl, you can get out of it by marrying your victim and paying a fine to her father. No mention of whether she has to consent or even any restrictions on what age she has to be for this get-out-of-stoning card to apply. The only real punishment is the perp could never divorce his "bride."
So this guy didn't really do anything wrong because, you know, Bible principles. Sheesh!
Now that this has come up, it reminds me of something the Borg once put out about not being hasty to accuse someone of child abuse. The gist of it was to say the elders need to consider the relative ages of the parties and the circumstances. It includes an admission that even some who are prominent in the Borg have been accused of such things, but it wasn't really that bad because, "he may have even married the girl." I wonder if this particular case was what the blurb was referring to. Hmmm...
If I can find that exact letter dealing with this, I will post a link if at all possible. Anybody know which one I'm talking about?

What sort of people were the JW's who went to prison? Government study tells all
by Terry indo you feel a draft?
(jw’s did-in the 1960s)i thought you might find it interesting to review exactly what the u.s. government thought, studied, and wrote about people of conscience during the vietnam war.what follows comes from official records…more than half of the 27 million men eligible for the draft during the vietnam war were deferred, exempted, or disqualified.
(cortright, david (2008).

Thanks for posting this, Terry. I had no idea such a study had ever been conducted.
I can verify what you said about being
counseledordered not to reveal what you had been instructed about accepting alternative service. You couldn't agree ahead of time on anything. It was considered "making a deal" with the military. You were only allowed to comply with whatever sentence you got. I know this for a fact. My dad was a long-time "servant," now called "elder," and I heard him telling the same thing to my draft-age cousin who was facing the same thing you did. He went to prison, too, but I'm not sure exactly how long he was in.About the same time, another young JW I knew was actually sentenced to do hospital work. When his term was up, the hospital immediately hired him and he had a long and successful career with them. Talk about unequal treatment and outcomes.

Blood: When an Active JW is Health POA for non-JW
by JW_Researcher inmy mother has designated my sister as her ‘designated health care representative.’ my sister has sworn to my mother that, if my mother needs blood, my sister will not refuse it.
there are no anticipated (key word) needs for blood at this time.
my mother is in her early 80s.. my mother has never been a jw but is very familiar with all aspects of jwdom and understands the risk of my sister not allowing blood if my mother needed it.

Just in case anyone was wondering, my adult son was never baptized and is decidedly a non-JW. His mother is a devout PIMI JW, but trusts her son completely in all matters. She knows he loves her and can be counted on to always act in her best interest. She loves him very much, but has made it clear that J-Dawg and orders from his minions come first.

My adult son may be faced with such a sticky situation one day. He is his mother's (my ex) Designated Health Care Representative and will absolutely do whatever is necessary to make sure she has the best health care possible. She made him promise he would never authorize a blood transfusion for her. This puts him in an almost impossible position: either violate his mother's wishes and his promise to her, or risk losing his mother when she might be saved. I hope with all my being that this never arises.
If it ever does arise, he risks being criticized either way. Certain relatives will say either (1) "You broke your solemn promise to your mother! How could you?" or (2) "You let your mother die! In a hurry for your inheritance?" Sheesh!
All I can do is be there for him, come what may. I will support and defend him, no matter what he decides. I know his motives will be pure. That's all that counts.

Wouldn't surprise me if WT, perhaps under a shell corporation, bought it back at a bargain price and then used unlimited free labor to fix it up so they could sell it again at a huge profit. You heard it here first, friends!

The story of a renegade anointed
by Terry inremarkable sister pettifog.
this morning i arrived on my bicycle at the local starbucks early and took up a seat at the outdoor table in the fresh air.. that’s when it happened--a group of 3 older ladies at one of the other tables outside rose to leave and one of them walked over to my table and spoke directly to me.
i was wearing earbuds at that moment and didn’t hear.

I Found Some Extremely Rare Rutherford Recordings
by Nosferatu ini was blown away when i found these watchtower records with rutherford on them.
these aren't the ones that were used door to door.
these are 16 inch records that were sent to radio stations to broadcast rutherford over the airwaves.

If you can figure out how to play them, please consider converting them to digital (mp3) and making them available to everyone. Lots of people would like to use them for research or just the fun of finding hidden "gems" of the old BS they used to put out.
After you do that, I'd bet the originals would fetch a tidy sum on eBay.

Good story, Terry! Sometimes ya gotta go along to get along. In this case, it doesn't hurt anybody and you made a lot of old folks happy by "confirming" their delusion.
Could I interest you in an autographed 8 x 10 glossy of Moses?
